Cartoon Writing GIFs
Bold marker and doodle handwriting with exaggerated wobble — the loud, playful end of the library.
What is a cartoon writing GIF?
A cartoon writing GIF is an animation of chunky, hand-drawn lettering being scribbled out — thick marker strokes, bright colour and a deliberate wobble, the way text is lettered in a comic panel rather than set in a font.
Every GIF in this collection is free to download and use, commercially included, with no attribution and no watermark.

What makes these read as cartoon
Three things: a thick, blunt stroke that stays roughly the same width instead of tapering, saturated colour rather than ink tones, and per-character jitter turned up so every letter sits at its own slight angle and baseline. Together they read as drawn by hand in a hurry, which is the cartoon-lettering look.
The faces used here are Permanent Marker for the boldest lines, Patrick Hand and Indie Flower for rounder doodle shapes, and Shadows Into Light for a lighter felt-tip feel.
They work best where you want energy and do not need elegance: stickers, reaction GIFs, kids' material, stream overlays, slide callouts and anywhere a neat script would feel too formal.
Make your own writing GIF
Every GIF here was produced with the free WriteGIF editor — same fonts, same stroke engine. Type any text, pick a handwriting style and ink colour, and download the animation. It runs entirely in your browser: your text is never uploaded.
Cartoon writing GIF FAQ
Can I use these as stickers or reactions?+
Yes. They are sized and coloured for exactly that — short phrases, strong colour, readable at small sizes in a chat window.
Why does each letter sit at a different angle?+
That is deliberate. Per-character rotation, baseline offset and scale are pushed well past the natural setting, so the lettering looks drawn by hand rather than typed. The main library uses a much subtler version of the same effect.
Can I make one with my own words?+
Yes. Click "Make this with your own text" on any GIF to open the editor with the same marker font and colour, then type whatever you want.
Are they free for commercial use?+
Yes, including paid and client work, with no attribution required and no watermark.
