By accessing or using WriteGIF (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

WriteGIF is a free online tool that converts user-provided text into animated handwriting GIFs and static PNGs. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

You retain full ownership of any text you enter into the editor and any handwriting GIFs or PNGs you generate. We do not claim any rights to your content. The Service processes your text locally in your browser; your text is never uploaded to our servers.

You are solely responsible for the content you create and how you use the resulting files. You may use generated GIFs and PNGs for personal or commercial purposes without restriction or attribution.

You agree not to use WriteGIF to create content that is unlawful, harmful, harassing, defamatory, threatening, or that infringes on the rights of others. You agree not to attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the Service or its underlying infrastructure.

The WriteGIF brand, logo, website design, and code are the property of WriteGIF and its contributors. The handwriting fonts used by the Service are licensed under their respective open-source licenses (primarily the SIL Open Font License). The Tegaki rendering engine is open source under the MIT License.

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, WriteGIF disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, WriteGIF and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time; the latest version will always be available at this URL with the updated date at the top.
